The Health Studies Student Association aims to:
- Introduce diverse roles within health-related fields (i.e. Allied health, epidemiologists, human resources, community health, public health, health educator, health administration, health informatics, medical lab tech, and many other non-clinical healthcare roles) through events for student professional development.
- Events will also be open to everyone (i.e. prospective, pre-majors along with current Health Studies/Nursing students) to create an interdisciplinary environment for students to help promote interest in health fields. This will establish and maintain mentorships to students to meet with health professionals and professors by providing guidance and recommendations in academic and professional development. Mentorship and events will assist students to find information regarding health-related jobs and internships that will benefit them as current students and after graduation.
- Provide information on majors and minors in health studies programs to students through collaboration with academic advisors and faculty members to students for their academic and professional development. This will give access to resources for students interested in pursuing a major or minor in the School of Nursing and Health Studies.
